– PROFILE –

Maggie is an experienced litigator who practices in the areas of insurance defence, professional liability, and commercial litigation. She is a passionate advocate and has represented clients before the Small Claims Court, Landlord and Tenant Board, Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the British Columbia Supreme Court, and the British Columbia Court of Appeal. Originally from Ancaster, Ontario, Maggie joined Cavanagh LLP in 2021 after practising at a prominent commercial and securities litigation boutique in Toronto. She articled with a global litigation firm, focusing on insurance, reinsurance, and commercial litigation and has experience in plaintiff-side personal injury litigation.

Maggie attended law school at the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Common Law, where she graduated cum laude in 2019. While in law school, Maggie developed a love for international law when she represented Canada in consecutive years at the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, where her team ranked 7th and she was ranked in the top 50 speakers in the world. She now satisfies her love of international law by serving as the National Administrator of the Jessup competition in Canada, judging at the Jessup world rounds, and contributing to the Canadian Council of International Law’s moots committee. Because she simply does not spend enough time in the mooting world, Maggie also co-coaches the University of Ottawa’s tort law moot team.

Outside of work, Maggie can be found playing a myriad of characters in the annual GCTC Lawyer Play, obsessing over her favorite fantasy novels, playing soccer, and cheering on her beloved Hamilton Tiger Cats Football Team.
